Wimbledon Park is the second largest park in Merton and also gives its name to Wimbledon Park tube station. To the immediate west of the park resides the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Wimbledon Park should not be confused with the much larger and better known Wimbledon Common, also to the west.

Wimbledon Park is probably the most important park in London south of the River Thames and is probably South London’s best-kept secret! This beautiful valley was transformed in the 18th century by the most famous of all English landscape architects, Capability Brown when the lake was formed as a focal point for the house located to the south of the present park.
